Hold on now, I want to make sure you read that write right, because I know that’s the plastered smile you use every time you’ve heard someone else tell you that they are writing a novel.
I have written one.
And now I am actively seeking representation. Who isn’t these days, write? right?
Exactly 23 days ago I emailed my first query letter to none other than the Query Shark herself. My plan was to patiently wait and see if I glittered among the chum, revise, revise, and re-revise based on her feedback, and have a tantalizing query letter that would have agents salivating.
What I actually did was spend hours clicking at the mouse until it wheezed, looking up agent email addresses, submission guidelines, and sending, sending, sending away.
Agent God, forgive me, for I have sinned. It has been 14 days since my first query letter, and I have queried 49 agents since.
But hey, you did get one request for pages out of it!
Thank you, thank you first-time-novelist devil. J
