In an effort to save my naive authoring soul, I am reviewing my current list of form rejections - specifically the ones received SAME DAY - and analyzing my mistakes.
I cheered when I recieved my first rejection letter. It was my official induction into the publishing world!
From the Nelson Literary Agency, queried Oct 12 and form rejected Oct 13, there is NO mystery as to why:
Query Rule #1 - Address your query to a PERSON, not the agency.
Take Two will not only actually be addressed to an agent, but to an agent I will have thoroughly researched and have actually become excited to work with.
