So in the book I'm reading on novel writing I came across a word for word description of my climax under the "What Not To Do" section. Go figure.

But HEY! At least the mystery of the unsatisfying ending has been solved! Now I just have to fix it!!!
Writing Juvenile Stories and Novels by Phyllis A. Whitney
It's a tad out-dated (section on whether to write in pencil or by typewriter...) but certain components of structuring a novel are timeless. I have really enjoyed and appreciated Ms. Whitney's tutelage so far :)
